CBMI 2008 will be held at Queen Mary, University of London (QMUL), in the main campus in Mile End. QMUL is the fourth biggest college of the University of London. The college has got a high international reputation in different research fields with many departments having a very good evaluation in the RAE assessments.

The campus is located in Mile End Road (E1 4NS), and it is very close to a number of public transport links. The Stepney Green and Mile End tube stations are at walking distance, and Mile End Road is served by a number of bus routes. The TFL Journey Planner provides all the information to reach the campus from different locations.

Octagon

A map of the campus [PDF] is made available by the college. The poster presentations will be held in the Octagon in the Queen's building [1]. The oral presentations will be held in the Skeel's Lecture Theatre in the People's Palace [33]. Additional tutorial sessions will be held in the Electronic Engineering Department building[33].

*NEW*: on Tuesday the 17th, a registration desk will be placed in the Electronic Engineering building foyer. This building is located just few meters on the left of the Queens' building (the main University building), while facing the campus, and its glass doors are easily visible. From Wednesday the 18th onwards, the registration desk will be in the People's Palace foyer, accessible from the Queens' building front yard. See the map of the campus for additional guidance. A conference banner will be displayed on the main building fence on Mile End road.

Note to the delegates: From 1 July 2007, in accordance with Government legislation, all College premises and vehicles are smoke-free environments where smoking is prohibited. This applies to both indoor and outdoor locations and accommodation. The College Policy on a Smoke-Free Environment applies to all members of the College (staff, students, alumni, Council members) and visitors to the college. People wanting to smoke can do so outside of the college premises. The ban includes all the college halls of residence.

Notes for delegates with in-campus accommodation

In the day of your arrival, rooms are not guaranteed to be available before noon (12.00). On the check-out day, you will be asked to vacate your rooms no later than 10:00 to allow cleaning ready for new arrivals. Luggage may be left with the conference assistants if required, but the College accepts no responsibility in case of loss or damage.

Keys are issued from the reception in France Court (41 in the map of the campus) which is staffed 24 hours a day.
